Nr 87 - Make the Wellington Cafe diary

Nr 81 - Go to at least 20 new cafes during my last year

Many thanks to K for being such a faithful café junkie with me!
Just to clarify, first of all, my 'last year' does not mean the 12 months before I leave Wellington for good. Since it seems like I might never get away from here (oh how I love my dear Welly) I've decided that what I will count as the 'last year' is year 2007 because when I wrote the list that is what I thought would be my last year here.
Secondly, my definition of "going to a Café" is this: I have to have ordered something (and consumed it there, no takeaways), and it does not include clubbing (which means that places like Matterhorn, Murphy's and Hotel Bristol don't count because they weren't stricktly speaking 'café/restaurant visits and I didn't ordered anything to eat there).

Lets see how many of the 20 I can remember!
1. Katipo
2. Roxy
3. Plum
4. Perrets corner
5. Bambalina
6. Wellington Sports Café
7. Offbeat originals
8. Sweet Mother's Kitchen
9. Burrito Brothers
10. Aro Café
11. Calzone
12. Blondinis
13. Brandon street café
14. Burger fuel
15. Chocolate frog
16. Floriditas
17. Mojo (on Willis)
18. The Office
19. Victoria street café
20. Zing

Hmmm... I wonder if I can do another 20 in 2008!?

Just want to take another chance to say: I love Wellington!!!

Nr 80 - walk 'the round the bays' race (with K)

We finally did it.

An early morning in January K and I made our way down to town and on toward the orange needle in Kilbirnie, picking up J on the way. The day was beautiful, the water still and the smell of sea very strong. It didn't take us very long either, only about an hour and a half.

Great!!

Should do it again, I like walking in Wellington when I can avoid the silly hills... Oriental parade rules!

I might add photos when I get them.

Nr 52 - Have a picnic

This summer I have had not just one picnic, but several. The free concerts at the Soundshell in the Wellington Botans were just too good to resist! Here is photographic evidence of one gloriously healthy picnic (accompanied by the Beat girls, I think).

And here we've got lots of other keen picnickers at another concert (the Age Pryor one).
